I get them done about 2x per year. I know exactly what you are talking about! Ask your doc about a steroid injection before the CT scan, It will not really change the flushed feeling you get at the CT scan, but if you feel ill all day afterwards, it will help. It helps me... good luck.

Ask the physician who referred you for a CT scan if he can prescribe a mild sedative, not something to knock you out, but something that will calm you down and help you get through CT scan easier.

The tech's can give you another dye that isn't as upseting to your system. But really you just need to relax and go with the flow. The test is painless and usually quite fast. If you are clostrophopic your Dr. may prescrpibe a mild sedative. You should do just fine.

i had a ct scan it wasnt bad at all. i hate the whole iv needle thing and all but it was over soon . after the iv was in the medicine they give you really did not bother me. the only thing that was weird was it makes you feel warm all over and feels like you peed yourself/ but that too doesnt last too long.
