Unfortunately, this is one of the hazards of people who are not married having children, it's very easy for the person to pick up and move and there is nothing you can do about it easily. Is your name on the birth certificate and has paternity been established? And if so, why aren't you paying child support. If you are the father I don't care if she is on the other side of the world, it is up to you to help support her! If yes to paternity or birth certificate or both, then you do need to get a lawyer. Shop around, many lawyers will take a few hundred dollars up front and then you can make monthly payments. You aren't going to get anywhere without a lawyer especially if she has moved out of the state. If you have to, get a 2nd job, it just depends how serious you are about having a role in your daughters life. Understand, that if you go through all this you will have a hefty lawyer bill and, you will be paying child support and you will be asked why you didn't do any of this sooner. Good luck!

Wow this is a bad situation. It is legal for her to leave the state. She really has no legal obligation to you as you are not married, and you are not ordered child support. Try to be friendly with your ex and maybe she will work something out with you. Is your name on the birth certificate? If so you could get court ordered visitation but you would have to save money for a lawyer. Sometimes lawyers will work with you on the fees, set up payment plans and such. You could always talk to a lawyer which sometimes the initial consultation is free. Look in the phone book.

I don't think that there is anything you can do other than to get a lawyer. She isn't getting support from you.
Is your name on the birth certificate?
Was paternity established?
What state are you in?
Why are you NOT paying support (whether court ordered or not)?

an attorney should give you a free half hour to hear what you think is your case...they will usually give you some options. You for sure need to be on the birth certificate as the dad...if so then she could be kidnapping and child endangerment.and so on. You really do need to speak to someone in family law for your state, get a second job and do what you have to do. Whether or not you are paying child support you have rights...and she is in violation of the law.

Did you sign the birth certificate? Do you have paternity test results that would prove that you are the father? You have to establish being the dad before you can do anything.

You don't need a lawyer, represent yourself. I get sick of chicks using kids as a weapon. Your relationship has nothing to do with your rights as a parent!!
