radiator should be all the way full and the overflow should be between the full hot and cold marks

fill with 50% antifreeze and 50% water

There will be a mark, somewhere on the coolant reservoir, that tells you the correct level regardless of the engine type or size. Use a flashlight and look all of the way around it to make the raised lettering stick out. The lettering is the same color as the reservoir, namely a whitish, clearish, opaque color, kind of like a milk jug.
