Despite many fitness myths that say otherwise, there is not much difference between working out in the morning and working out in the evening. It is really about when you can fit it in, and what works for you - if you can work out in the evenings, go for it. You will get pretty much the same results as if you had worked out in the morning - the important thing is that you work out, not when you work out.

Some people prefer exercising in the morning because it wakes them up, or because if they put it off until later in the day, they are too tired and talk themselves out of it. Others do it because they find that if they work out in the evening, they have difficulty sleeping.

On the other hand, some people find working out in the evening a great way to relieve stress and calm them down - and they actually sleep better after working out. Some people (and it sounds like you are one of these) just are not morning people and can't get up the energy or motivation to organize their morning time enough to allow for a workout.

You just have to find what works for you. If evening is what works for you, go for it! It is not the timing of your work out that will determine your success, its your consistency with the workout - if you will stick with it in the evening but not the morning, do it in the evening.

As far as calorie burning, you may be burning more calories for a short time after the workout, but it won't be any more extra calories than you would have burned after a morning workout.

When you work out in the morning, you get your body working and your blood pumping. That means you are burning more calories with everything that you do during the day rather than just laying there in bed sleeping if you work out before bed. Of course, if working out in the PM is all that you can do, then do it. It's better than not working out at all. I know that it is hard to get up early to work out, but you probably will feel much better and alive during the day if you do.

different strokes for different folks. personally i prefer the nighttime. i have gone early in the morning and for some reason i just come home more tired then when i started.

i lose 10-15 pounds a month and i work out at night. however if you work out before bedtime chances are you will have trouble sleeping.

well i work out in the morning and at night so i guess either way is good.and i was watching something on tlc about these people with sleeping problems(not saying you have one)and they said if you don't sleep you don't burn calories(cause one of the girls on there was into health and fittness)
and i read a artical about it on the internet and it says yes you can burn calories in your sleep but i don't know many.

It is better to work out at night because it has alot of benefits. #1 you will sleep better if you don't already and #2 work about 30 to 1 hour to let your food settle. That way you burn your dinner. I hope that helps

always work out in the morning. this way you can get your heart rate up and you blood pumping. When you work out in the night time then you get your heart rate up and then you just go to sleep. It can affect your sleep if you work out too late.

I've hit the gym working out before at different times of the day, and it really doesn't matter when you work out as long as you are working out.
