family reunion?

I am looking for anything that can help me plan our family reunion that takes place in August.Hotels,Food, things to do etc.

One thing that we have always done at our family reunions is that we have everyone bring some items to be auctioned off ( just regular things that you would find at a garage sale). Then we choose an auctioner and start the fun. This is a good way to raise money for the reunion the following year.

If you have alot of property you can have in in your back yard . You can set up tables and have your food put on them , have a barbecue handy , someone too cook for you .
You can play games .
Example : Have 2 sides , so many people to a side , make it equal , and have balloons filled with water , and gradually throw very lightly to each other ,and as each one is narrowed down , the last one wins a prize .
You can also do it with eggs .
You can have a table filled with candy in a jar , and guess how many candies our in it , or whatever you want to put in the jar ,and then give a prize to who guesses the right amount .
Depending on the ages you can have like throw things packaged in the yard ,and pick up and whoever gets the most wins a gift .
You can have a cart table with small gifts on it , and as they win they can go and pick there gift from the cart table .
For food : Plan so many pieces of meat , chicken , hamburger , chips , pretzels , potato salad , macaroni salad , or even better is to ask each one to bring a dish and find out what they will bring so you can make sure you dont have to much of the same thing.
Its about having fun . You want to make it easy so its not hard on some and not others as far as doing the work ,plus it counts down on having it at Hotels ,and expensive places.

Find out how many of them will come, look for the place and check if all of them will be comfortable(capability), what do you want and need in for the reunion: food, music, tables,chairs, bathrooms, etc. And who will help you starting and ending the reunion.

I think the best thing to do for all ages would be go to a theme park! You will all enjoy eachothers company and switch partners for rides! Good luck hope it turns out well!
