The protestants didn't protest against Jesus Christ. They protested against the self-made rules by a selfish King so he can take up a mistress. Many Catholics were troubled by the way the Church abused its power. The Church allowed the sale of indulgences (substitutes for confession that had to be bought) and allowed people to buy the titles in the church such as priest, bishop, etc. The Church even went so far as to allow people to buy more than one title, a man could be both a priest and a bishop. Luther's timely protest against the church led to the reformation. Since many people were troubled by the corruption in the Church they readily joined Luther's cause. The history of Protestantism began on October 31, 1517, when Martin Luther tacked up his 95 theses on the door of the Roman Catholic Castle Church in Wittenberg. It started as a Christian movement within the Roman Catholic Church. What followed was a succession of scandals, and Luther's theses quickly circulated. Martin Luther was a German Roman Catholic, and a monk of the order of St Augustine of Hippo.

No, that is not the deal. M Luther separated from Catholic church because he did not believe their doctrines were Christ like. I think he did not change things enough. Protestants do not protest Christ, they have just different way of following Christ. That s OK. You need to follow what you think is right. : )

Because Martin Luther as a pig who could have helped the Church but didn't. Instead, he started the Protestant reformation which prompted the other heretics to go against the Church. Martin Luther didn't want to accept the authority of the pope, the Vicar of Christ. He was a heretic and schismatic and although he was well-educated and could have helped reform the Church, he wanted his own Church and was paid to start one by the German Princes (Frederick especially) and he wanted a Church because of unknown, selfish reasons. Does that help?

Are you simply ignorant or plain stupid? The Roman Catholic Church was corrupt in many ways, Martin Luther was a renegade priest, who had no intention of breaking away from the RCC, but wanted to reform it.
Bishops were appointed as political favors and became hugely wealthy from their "job" at the church.
Indulgences were SOLD for money.
Poor families were encouraged to pay MONEY to shorten the time their dead relatives spent in Purgatory.
If you really aren't stupid, and just ignorant; google Martin Luther, read the manifest that he nailed to the church door! Educate yourself, and stop spreading lies and rumors.
