...hung out with whores and social outcasts, was remarkably casual about sex, disapproved of the family, urged us to be laid-back about property and possessions, warned his followers that they too would die violently, and insisted that the truth kills and divides as well as liberates. He also cursed self-righteous prigs and deeply alarmed the ruling class.

Jesus hated hypocrites. They were the religious leaders of the day that had instituted a profitable and comfortable lifestyle for themselves that inflated their value in society and culture.

Much like the politicians of today, the religious leaders were the elite that were not accessible by the masses.

Jesus took this practice and threw it out on its ear. He openly called them nasty names, drove them out of the temple with force and a weapon, and upset their hierachy.

For this, they plotted to kill him.

But, it was prophecied many hundreds of years before Jesus was born that this would be His Life:

No. You certainly missed the messages. Jesus came to heal the sick. he walked among the prostitutes, lepers, whore mongers, drunks, shepherds, tax collectors, the dregs of society. He rebuked the rich for their abhor rant behavior of believing they were entering the kingdom of heaven because of their wealth. He emphasized families as a whole. He told his followers that they would be treated as he and that one must lay down his burdens and pick up the cross. Those self righteous prigs were more like the Pharisees. Pharisees thought they had arrived and were better than anyone else.
Once you know the Truth, the way and the Life, you will experience a new eternal life.
it is a shame you have this feeling about Jesus, he came to heal the sick and to over come death so that we who believe in him will have eternal life. A simple thing to do, but people make it so complicated. How you see Jesus is up to you. I can say that personally I have experienced miracles, blessing beyond belief and I know in my heart when I die I will be in Heaven with Jesus, Lord of Lords.

Yes, he hung out with whores and social outcasts but he was doing it as part of his mission to redeem everyone because God loves all.

As for the rest of your question, I suggest you read one gospel (Mark, Matthew, Luke or John). The gospel of Mark or Luke would answer all your questions.

Peace and every blessing!

Why not read the texts for yourself rather than depending on others for answers?
