depends on what they are for. you need different types of software for different items, (ie. home, cars, ect)
basically, you will need a software application, and you will need to know how to detail (draw) what you want.

Use a CAD program. Print to a plot file or a PDF. Take/send file to a commercial print shop to print on 36"x24" sheet or 36"x42" sheet.

You download AutoCad2000 from a share site, draw your print, and print on a plotter.
