I got about $300 back... what should I do with it?

If you don't have to have it to live on... put it into a savings account and let it build by adding a little to it every pay day. Then when you get it up to about $1000, invest that in a Certificate of Deposit. Those have yields of around 5%, if you shop the rates around. Look for banks or credit unions that will compound the interest every month. Pretty soon you'll have a nice little nest egg, if you leave it be.

If you have a debt to pay, pay it. If not, then put it away and let it grow.
