My husband is going to be discharged from the army sometime this year. He served for about 6-7 years. What can we expect the army to do for us in transition? As in, will they help us move? will they give us money to help us in our move? what kind of benefits are we still entitled to? I know tricare lasts for another 180 days, but that's all I really know.

He's being discharged due to PTSD from deployment to afganistan, and will be getting an honorable discharge.

They will move you at his home of record or the city he enlisted in. They will give you the money once you settle or you could take an advance. I made more money moving myself. They take care of the rental. Once you are out, you can purchase tricare for 3 months.
Good luck

The army will pack up and move your household goods. Also, they either give you auto mileage or a plane ticket to your home of record.

Does your husband enrolled in the Montgomery GI Bill? Also, the unemployment benefits starts after 12 weeks.

Congradulations! Veteran here. It depends at the status of his discharge. Assuming it was honorable he will have alot of benefits at hand. Go through the VA the Army usually doesn't do much for veterans unless he was wounded in combat. He will have to readjust to civilian life, and hopefully the VA can make his transition a good one.

Not much--seeing how poorly the government is taking care of our troops.

It's a sad fact that our government cares so little about our serving men and women--and asks them to give so much.

I feel sorry for your husband. He's going to get screwed just like every other serving soldier in the Army.
