Yes, you can use any pasta with the fettucini recipe, but wide noodles will hold the sauce better and be more flavorful.

And here is one of the world's easiest recipes for new cooks:

Chicken in Foil

For each serving, place a boneless chicken breast in the center of a square of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Season the chicken with your choice of the following:

Teryaki sauce, lemon pepper, barbecue sauce, Montreal poultry seasoning, or any sauce of choice suitable for chicken.

Place any or all of the following around the chicken breast:

A peeled and quartered potato, a peeled carrot cut into small chunks, a few broccoli spears, some whole mushrooms, a few slivers of sweet red onion, and some strips of red bell pepper.

Season the vegetables with salt and pepper, then dot with butter or margarine. Fold up the sides of the foil to form a tightly sealed packet, and bake in a 350 degree oven for 25-35 minutes or until the chicken is done and the veggies are tender.

Serve with breadsticks and some fruit for an easy, delicious meal with almost no clean-up afterwards!

Relax. Cooking is not that hard.
You can use spaghetti instead of Fettucini with alfredo sauce, but there is an aesthetic thing with the broad flat noodles.
This is my favorite recipe.
Shrip Rose (said rosay) Sauce.
In a sauce pan, add about 12 cloves, 1 lb. of small shrimp, a large bottle of plain tomato sauce, 2tsp. of basil, 2 tsp. of oregano. Cook until shrimp is pink all through and add half a quart of whipping cream. Keep stirring until thick. Serve over your favorite pasta and add cheese liberally. I use Sargento Italian blend. This is always a hit.
If you are an inexperienced cook, do yourself a huge favor. Go buy a slow cooker and get a slow cooker or crock pot (they are the same thing) recipe book. Your prep time is minimal, you just toss everything into the slow cooker, turn it on and go to work. You come home and there is a fresh hot meal waiting. Almost all slow cooker cook books have a recipe for jambalaya. It is a spicy dish that calls for shrimp and pork sausage. You can leave out the sausage and increase the shrimp or add chicken. I suggest adding the same amount of chicken as the recipe says to put in for the pork sausage.
Good Luck!

Hi!
Try homemade pizza. Each person can make their own!
You can buy the crust pre-made and put out assorted meats (like hamburger, turkey, etc.) and put out mozzarella, provolone, and cheddar cheeses.
Then you can add black olives, peppers, mushrooms, or onions for additional toppings.
Also, try any pasta, like spaghetti. Buy the sauce, add some meatballs (inexpensive pre-made, like from Wal-Mart) add a small salad and some garlic bread. Ice cream is a nice way to finish up for desert.

My mom made a really good homemade HAMBURGER AND GRAVY recipe.

INGREDIENTS:
hamburger
onion
salt
parsley
beef broth mix -or- bouillon cube

crumble & brown hamburger.
Add 1 Tbsp. chopped Onion
1/2 Tsp. salt,
1/4 tsp pepper,
a little parsley,
2 table spoon beef broth mix -or- 2 beef bouillon cubes

In a seperate bowl mix 2 Tbsp. Cornstarch & 1/3 cup water. Add to mixture & stir until it thickens.

Put on top of mashed potatoes. I love it when my mom cooks this.

2 QUICK SNACK RECIPES:
get a flour tortilla,
put tomato or pizza sauce on it,
add cheese,
sprinkle Italian seasoning.
BAKE at 420ºF for ten minutes

get graham crackers,
put cream cheese on it,
then put jam on it.
It tastes like cheesecake!

You poor soul. Go buy a cookbook such as Betty Crocker's Cookbook. The recipes are easy, taste good and seldom fail. This is a great beginner's cook book as the instructions are simple and easy to follow. Good luck.

Green chicken. Boil chicken in a bit of yogurt. Make paste of green chili, ginger, garlic and cilantro. Add some soya sauce and marinate chicken. Heat some oil and fry it :). If you want more of gravy , dont throw the water formed after boiling chicken with yogurt. If you want it more like a fried thing, throw the water formed after boiling chicken(making it dry)..I am Indian too.

2 cups of soy sauce to 1.5 cups brown sugar, handfull of garlic cloves every 6-8 cups of soy sauce after the first cup, and ginger (not the powder) and green onion. Mix, throw in chicken (thawed), cook in oven for an hour or 2 and presto its what we call shoyu chicken in hawaii. Recipes may vary slightly depending on who you talk to.
