Just curious. I've seen many christians say they don't 'believe in that' because it wasn't mentioned in the bible. I've come up with a list of things I cannot find biblical references for anywhere. Please provide references or explain why it's ok to believe in these things.

Hostess Ding-Dongs
Fabric Softener
Precision Tools
Pay Telephones
Lutefisk (of the devil! I know, I know!)
Swivel Chairs
Modems that run at 9600 baud (also 'of the devil')
My neighbor's baby
Chevy big block engines (especially the 383 450 horsepower)
Chocolate bars

Anyone else? What else is not mentioned in the bible that most christians 'believe in'?

That being said..

Automobiles
Computers
Space shuttles
Vaccines
Democracy
None of those things are in the bible.

I'm an evangelical Christian, but I don't believe in 455 ci Ram Air IV Pontiac motors or black 1970 Pontiac GTO's with red racing stripes and tinted windows. I don't believe in any muscle cars for that matter-not even the ones with enough ground pounding torque to snap your head off your shoulders.

Most people are referring to spiritual matters or matters of historical importance and reference to the Bible. Although I'd be the first to admit that the invention of Hostess Ding-dongs is of historical importance ... at least to me lol

Of course it wouldn't be a biblical answer for these things, THEY WERE NOT INVENTED YET! Biblical events and insight are to be used as a guide, to be put in general perspective, not specific perspective on material things. Trust and faith goes a real long way.

Like one person said, the things you mentioned are not in the Bible because they were not even invented yet. And they would not be mentioned in the Bible anyways because they were not significant and they did not change history.

Wow...how brilliant! Seriously you must be some sort of prodigy to come up with a stunting question like this!

Advice...lay off the Hostess Ding-Dongs that you believe so strongly in and maybe you'll be able to ask a semi meaningful or intelligent question.

If you feel this way, you shouldn't even be on the internet. I believe in everything except the bible. It makes things easier that way.

I believe (and trust) in Jesus.

Sorry you are having so much trouble with The bible.....

take a breather and relax...you'll get over it.
Calm down and realize ...not everyone agrees with your ignorance.....maybe a session with the pshychtherapist will help.

There is no mention of me either. Actually, it was a bit of a relief to find out that I do not exist.
