I realize that we as people tend to make fun of each other's physical traits far too often, but not many are discriminated as much as short men.
Tell me this...why is it when someone calls someone else "fat" for being a little overweight, it's "mean"? But... when someone is made fun of for being short, to everyone else, it's funny? These double-standards absolutely suck, and I just don't see why people have to be so mean. Height is something we really can't control. You can control your weight. You can control your personality, etc...your height is stuck with you. Short men are seen as weak, and fragile, and incapable of making tough decisions. Why do people judge books by their covers?
Not to mention that being a short guy, your options to find a girlfriend/wife are extremely limited. I mean, I can't tell you the number of times I have heard from a girl that they have a "minimum requirement" when it comes to height for guys. Some women can be so nit-picky when it comes to height

and to Mr Wright..don't get me wrong. I don't have an attitude. You are referring to "short man's syndrome", which is VERY different from what i am talking about. "short man's syndrome" is when a short man TRIES to act bigger and tougher. i don't do that.

During my teenage years, i have had mild acne. It was something i could not do much about, i had tried everything and i was eating very healthy foods like fruits, vegetables and lots of water. Fat food made me panic cause i thought it would show immediately on my skin. Still the acne was there. During those years people have treaten me very mean cause of this. It's wasn't fair cause i couldn't do anything about it. Thank God my skin is ok now. But it made me experience first hand how mean people can be when it comes to looks, even when the person can nothing do about it. So i know how you feel. Remember there are lots of girls who like short guys, but those are the girls with a more mature mind, not the airheads. I for example don't mind being with a short guy as long as he is a real man and he makes me feel like a woman. Height has nothing to do with whether or not a guy is a real man. I know lots of tall men who are whimpy losers.

You are absolutely right... It's downright mean to make fun of someone else's physical characteristics. I guess the reason that seems the most logical is that people make fun of others to make themselves feel better. If only they realized how big of a jerk they were being.
As for the girls, I've seen that myself too. "A short guy? Eww. That would be too awkward." If a girl is going to be that shallow and nit-picky, you don't want her anyways. I totally understand what you are going through.

Well, most short guys don't want to date a girl taller than them. Short men always remark on how tall she is and that he wishes that he was taller. By being a tall girl, your options are limited too. Therefore, there is discrimination between daters everywhere. Your true love will love you for you, no matter how tall or short you are.

dude, nothing personal but usually men that aren't very tall also suffer from what we commonly refer to as short man's disease. lose the tude and get over your height issues that you have. just be real. hang out with people that have class, not losers. be yourself and hang lose.

no offense sweety but no woman wants a man that is shorter than them, I mean i don"t want to have to look down to see what you are saying, I don"t want to have to feel overly confident every time I want to wear heels I have to feel bad every time WE want to go out! I mean okay if it is true LOVE height doesn"t matter, and if you are cute and you have a great personality it won't really matter about your height.....Don"t worry you will find the right WOMAN who DOESN"T CARE about your SHORTNESS!!!
