I have recentally read a book about how dogs found homes on petfinder.com. It made me want to get a dog that way. I already have a dog and a kitten. But I really would like another dog for my dog to play with, since she seems lonely with my brothers and i at school and my parents at work. How can I convince my mom/dad to get a new dog. Not a puppy but a dog around 1 or 2. They say I have enough pets but it doesn't seem that way.

Wait, no one is home all day and you want to force ANOTHER animal to deal with this? Sounds like you shouldn't even have the one dog that you have. Ick.

Be happy with the dog that you have. Spend more time with it and love it. With a schedule like your family's, you certainly don't need another animal.

Responsibility is key. Show them that you truly can handle another dog in the family. It also depends on what breed and male or female. (males dont generally work well together) and certain dogs are not pack dogs and are independent and like solitude. however many dogs would love the company of a fellow canine in the house while you are away. good luck!

show your parents that you can be a reasonable pet person with out being told what to do or be re-mined that you need to take care of your pets. if you can do that then maybe it will change their mines.

Hehe... what they said.

You shouldn't bring yet another dog into this situation. Your parents are correct. You're a kid, deal with it.

you have to show them you are responsible by feeding and walking and playing and picking up after your current pets EVERY day.
