I'd wait for the public information. For Bush now it just seems like another bait and switch - we're talking about the man that killed habeaus corpus at least.

I would expect much more. No one deserves citizenship - that is earned by the rule of law when just and from God-fearing representatives that defend and protect the Constitution and the citizens that put them there.

The 2000 U.S. census shows that Hispanics were the fastest growing population in the United States.
A special committee report indicated that the income level of Hispanics in 1976 and again in 2000 shows that as the Hispanic population grew their wealth did not. Even amongst all other minority groups.
This report cited that the reason for this was due to the lack of educated and skilled labor.

Mexico does not send its Doctors to the United States. It sends its poor and un-educated. Most of the people who are illegal. would not qualify for any type of American Visa(H1) more specifically.

They can fly our flag upside down, and do whatever to their own flag if they are United States Citizens this is America. However they do not have the rights that taxpayers have, consequently they should be arrested.

I think it sounds a little bit better than what Bush proposed previously, but it still sounds like rewarding illegal activity - being in the country illegally and working illegally. I just wish the current immigration laws could be enforced, period.

Wonderful idea, as for those protesters marching down the street, round 'em up, head 'em out, and don't stop until you get to the border.
They illegals and law breakers, commiting another crime by marching, so send them back. If they can't come in legally like other immigrants we don't need them.

Immigration in no longer a matter of principle - it has become a matter of what is feasible. It is wishful thinking to say "round em up and send em home." We don't have enough agents to secure our borders let alone undergo a national manhunt for millions of people. Its just not feasible. Two, if you believe terrorism is a threat, why would you not want all illegal aliens documented. They are not going to show up and allow us run background checks if we don't offer them something. Wouldn't you rather know who's inside your country? The guest worker program is vital to American agriculture. Have you ever considered what basic food would cost if we paid Americans to harvest. Can you imagine the economic devastation to the middle-class family if food was not subsidized by guest workers? It's time to get realistic about what this country can do about this problem.

Good, I'm glad, this problem needs to be remedied instead of ignored...I figured he could do at least one thing right in his 8 years in office, however, I was hoping for a few more good things.

What do you think about THIS story? I can't believe this corrupt government wants to make people go through all this crap when they were the ones that contributed to them coming here in the first place. Corrupt bastards. Many of us deserve citizenship in one day. If you don't want to quit doing **** like that done in Vieques, give us citizenship or get the **** out of our countries.
