If I assume piston, singles and twins, you'd have to be talking about a DC-6 or larger. Those aren't in reliably in service anymore.

The remaining solutions are turboprops and jet transport category aircraft. Duly noted, the landing gear well is a bad place to hide; and you have to get into something in the Boeing 707 range before you have pressurized cargo areas where a pilot wouldn't notice you or your weight changing the aircraft's handling characterists.

You could probably sneak up into the hell hole of a JetStar, or an old Hawker, but you'd have to either carry oxygen or be sure the flight wasn't going to top 20,000' MSL.

As the pilots and crew typically load everything in GA, (general avaition; defined as corporate, non-schedueld flights,) you're talking about a BBJ, (Boeing Busines Jet,) or larger before you have an opportunity to insert a lving, oxygen breathing creature with much assurance that it's going to survive the flight.

From a writing standpoint, you can always follow the traditions of the writers ahead of you such as Poe, Conan-Doyle and Dan Brown; make it up as you go along without further research. All 3 of them have left me spitting like a cat when they get into aviation.

If somone gets around security in some way yes, they could get a free flight. They also have to avoid being detected by security and ramp rats at the destination airport; assuming you're talking about the average man at 165 lbs, stowed away in the baggage hold of a corporate 727 or larger corperate aircraft that's not landing at a more stringently controlled airport.

If you had a destination in mind, you'd have to know of an aircraft going to an airport in the vicinity and an ability to stow away and exit without being challenged by line personel, line service or the local police.

The case in point is the dunce that shipped himself from NYC to Dallas, Tx and was amont other things, dumb enough to terrify the UPS employee that delivered him.

Fly the Friendly Skies.

I've heard wheel wells and people have actualy tried this. The problem is they aren't presurised and so there isn't enough oxygen to sustain human life. You either go on as a Pax or mugle yourself on as cargo. End of story.
