Hi there I am a Veterinarian Tech and hope to help! I would like to highly recommend Nutro Large Breed Puppy for your GS. The Glucosimine will be good for his joints. Good luck! And remember, if you need to switch foods for any reason, please make it a 3 week process to avoid diahhrea and vomiting. Slowely mix the new food in with the old food until you are completely feeding the new food. Enjoy your pup! Hope this helped!

Horrible choice. It has by products in it, which is like us going to McDonalds for every single meal. The by products will also make your pup poop more. It doesn't keep the coat shinny or healthy. Because of all the hip problems with G . Shepard's you want to give your dog a large breed formula of food. That will keep it from growing too fast, and hurting its bone, joints, etc. Sorry, but almost anything is better than Purina Puppy Chow!

yes purina is a very good brand it has all the vitamins and nutrients your growing puppy will need but i would stick with that don't go withe the cheaper ol'roy or anything either use the purina puppy chow or Iams puppy formula and there are also other popular puppy foods at your local pet store that are better than the purina just check with them and they can recommend something

Purina is low quality food full of fillers and low grade meat by products.
A German Shepherd puppy needs excellent food so that it can develop correctly. Did the breeder not go over any of this with you? Look for a human grade food with no fillers. Blue Buffalo (from Petsmart) is what I fed my dog until she was a year old. Then, I switched over to Natural Balance (from Petco and other local stores) and we've never looked back.

DoNot Feed Puppy Food to a Large Breed Dog, it has too much fat and protein and large breeds tend to grow too fast on puppy food. This causes hip and joint problem not to mention pano. Feed a good quality adult or large breed formula with no more than 24% protein in it, fat content should be no more than 13 or 14%.

It's decent, but the best puppy chow is Nutro. It's kinda expensive, but it's definitely worth it. That's what I fed my mastiff, Nutro Large Breed Puppy Food, and I never had any health, joint or hip problems with him. It's what most pet stores recommend for large breeds because it has ingredients to keep their joints and hips healthy.

it is an ok food. Do not buy the store band food no matter what. Also do not buy the brand DADS. The only thing with purina is that it makes the dog poop more. So if you want to clean up more poop than ok.
