It is not bad. Just remember that you have to fish around alot because just like the real world, things aren't what they seem and many are just looking to be saved or for sex or to get married or to whatever.
I have several great friends that I met that way. I have an ex that way....didn't meet my husband that way...but still;-) I met him randomly on vacation.....but it is a great way to meet people and one might be one that you would like to date.
I prefer to say it is a 1 in 200 proposition. The nice part of it is that dating gets alot more fun...and you just have to remember that it is a casual thing that you don't stick with unless it is perfect. I would recommend. Unless you are under 30...then do social groups and clubs that have common interests for you too. (online dating is a bit older crowd).

Yeah, that's what I thought too. I've been divorced for 10 yrs. and have dated some; mostly jerks. So one day I was playing around on the Internet and saw this personals ad. I made a profile, just for fun. I've always been against any on-line relationships (you just never know what you're getting in to). I got a lot of messages and right before I was going to delete my profile, I got a lovely message from this wonderful sounding guy. We chatted for a while, then spoke on the phone. We fell in love before we even met. The second time we saw each other, we were proclaiming our love to one another. I never thought I could be so happy. So it's not vulgar, it can be a beautiful thing; just be careful and good luck.

Well if that is the last resort....I mean did you ever try doing something that is not habitual, like something you don't normally do? Go take a karate class, or something but do me a favor, do not ever go somewhere or go do something with the intention and purpose of meeting a girl, because when you are looking for it, it will never bring you anything but pain and problems. The ones worth keeping are the ones you aren't even looking for. For example you meet a great girl in the grocery store, see you weren't going there for the purpose of meeting a girl, you were going there to buy groceries. But trust me, the best things in life are unexpected. Good luck!

The only difference between your Aunt Bessie and Online dating is that Online knows a lot more people. Finding people to be in a relationship with is a ton of work in the best of circumstances. Don't feel guilty about using the tools at hand.

i understand it SEEMS desperate. but more and more people are doing it.... its a great way to weed out those u really don't want. so instead of meeting someone, getting to know them, and seeing things u don't want to see. u get to get to know them, then decide if u want to date them.
there are a ton of sites out there as well.... what do u have to lose? u'd be surprised what u will find out there! are u going to confine yourself or become open minded?
