He is fixed, not declawed, 6 years old, black Maine coon cat. We have 2 other cats and he is the "middle" child. Oldest being 7 year old female (who gets to go outside) and youngest a 1 1/2 year old male maine coon. Fuzzy (grumpy cat) lately has been beating up the younger one, and he always is growling and acting grumpy. He is healthy as far as I can tell, eats and drinks and potties well. Any ideas? Tried to give as much info as possible. Thanks

"Grumpy" is in charge and he has an image to maintain. He needs to constantly remind the younger one of the fact. As long as he's nice to you, it shouldn't be a problem. Is the younger one fixed as well?

Cats are very territorial and possesive. One cat in a household is enough.Get rid of the 2 other cats and you may notice a change to the good with fussy. You may want to police the area to see if there are any places they are going potty besides the cat box.Especially behind places as mutiple cats are not too picky where they go potty.Fuzzy probably has a dominering feeling over the younger cat and is liable to do more than just beat up on the younger one,so be carefull I might add that fuzzy is probably jealous of the younger cat.Good luck.

Your grumpy cat may just be keeping the younger male cat in check. I have read that you should intervene in undesirable cat behaviour like beating up the other cat. i have 3 cats as well with a similar problem all i did was distract the grumpy cat with a toy or loud noise(crumply paper) etc each time he wanted to be aggressive with the younger male cat. Try to make the distraction as neutral as possible, as cats can hold grudges.
Now the two boy cats almost play and I believe they will in the near future, also be sure to play with the grumpy cat if he will.
Good luck.
