Well, you can't change the past, just the present & the future. I've done alot of thing I shouldn't have, too. I just moved on the best I could & made sure I stopped making those mistakes.
I also asked the Lord for His forgiveness, and for Him to help me forgive myself. He not only did that, He also helped me forgive my ex-boyfriend who did me wrong.

The forgiveness for past wrongs can only be forgiven by the creator. The learning is to believe in the power of devine forgiveness and you will be able to feel the release when the forgiveness is given. We do not have the capacity to forgive ourselves because we are responsible to a greater authority but you can see the same effect when you forgive someone for the wrong done to you. The power of belief sometimes is seen in the eyes of non-believers. Don't limit your feelings to be totally your responsibility. The burden of that kind of acceptance is too great for us to comprehend.

The firet step is to just forgive. It dosen't matter what you did you just have to forgive. I'm not saying that this is a walk in the park because forgiveness takes time. It may be untill you die that you will learn to forgive. No matter how many things you need to forgive because there is no limit to how many times you can forgive.

You have to move on. Realize you not perfect and that you need Jesus to make you perfect.
Its good to be sorrowful for sins, that makes repentance more meaningful.
Changing the person you are now, can make a big distance to the Past. You can put it "far behind you" that way.
Rejoice that you have changed, and thank God for Jesus. Ask the Lord to forgive you and believe that he will. You can't carry such a burden, but Jesus can.

It's very hard. I've even had dreams about a few things I'm ashamed of....I don't suppose I'll ever forgive myself, but I guess it's part of our spiritual growth. The best you can do is cope with the feelings when they return and live your life loving the best way you know how.

I had the same guilt, regret problem. Here are the steps I took, it was hard and painful, but I finally forgave myself.
Yeah that was Me!
1.) Revisit the event and call it out as it is and you were and accept it, that was you. It is a part of you.
Example: "I was a drunkard idiot," or "I sure was arrogant!"
I Wasn't All that Bad
2.) Reflect about the good things that occurred during that event finishing with, I wasn't that bad ... "I tried to quit once," "I got an A in one class,"
Open up to Close Ones
3.) Talk with someone you love. reach out to someone and tell them you're feeling bad about your past and your having trouble getting over it.
Repritorize your concerns
4.) Read some Wolrd News articles about people in atrocities, find one that relates to your past. Also read birographies of great people in History, and vistit a quote page.
Chase Your Dreams Again, Go after them!
5.) Reevealute what you want in life and go after it!
Go after what you want, realize you learned from you past and move on. The Itlaians say, "Forget about it!,"
Stop Macromanging and Have Fun Again with your duties
6.) Enjoy life and hard work again. Reemember that time in life when you were progressingm but all you remember is you were having fun. That the great thing about Children. Stop macromanging yourself, YOU"LL go crazy, ****just make having fun the prioty and you will progress better and won't dwell on your past. You'll be happy.
Give, Give, Give
7.) Give Charity! Go to a nursing home, volunterr at at Vet, or Hostiptal. Go out and give.
What are you Doing?
8.) Put more activity in your life! Your heart is reminding you to go after your dreams again! Put more life in your life!
You are guilty becasue you feel deep inside you are not doing anything to prevent your past from repeating itself. Become occupied with your present, put more stuff here.
It took me three years to get over my past, it got more intense just before getting better. Put your heart back into your life. Have fun and get active in accomplishing your dreams!
Have Fun Again.
Artsist :)
Peace Be Upon You.

Just remember that once you ask God for forgiveness, it is granted, the sin forgotten. If you do not purposefully continue to make mistakes, you should not beat yourself up over it. We are all human and we all make mistakes and sometimes do things we are not proud of.
