I was informed that the building is currently used as living quarters for U.S. Naval sailors. Would knowing such a fact be a bit worrisome for our military members?

Yes, there is a building at the Coronado Navy Base near San Diego, that has a building shaped like a Swastika. The United States Navy even admitted the building exists, as shown in satellite photos. The Navy response, however, calls it an oversight by Navy workers. It was built between 1967 and 1969, which is less than 20 years after WWII, therefore, it stands to reason that construction workers and planners would have noticed the blueprints seem to resemble a Nazi symbol.

If a building resembles a swastika, I'm sure it has no political party meaning (I speak of the nazi political party). My best guess is that it's designed for defense. Incase of any emergency; an attack or any natural disaster, instead of losing the whole building and all the men, they would only lose a section of the building and only the men bunked in that section. That's only a guess though.

The German National Socialist Workers Party adopted the swastika as its symbol only in 1935. Prior to that it had been around both in Western and Eastern cultures. In Japan it can be found at temples.
In Germany it was called a "Hakenkreuz," hooked cross.

Sanskrit svasti, meaning well-being.

Rainbows used to stand for light prisms and nothing else.
A pit bulls used to be just another dog bread.
Red and blue used to not represent gang colors.
point being unless it looks exactly like the big bad swastika and the intentions are the same then it is just being turned into something from nothing.

It is not a building, it is several building that form a swastika. It was not intentional when they built it in 1970. It is at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado (NAB). For more info go to www.NBC.navy.mil

No, the swastika is a Hindu symbol that was stolen and corrupted by the Nazis. So even if there is a building that is shaped that way, if it did bother anyone they can look at it as a Hindu symbol
