How many layers of Skin does a Tattoo go through?

i already have tattoos, but i never really asked about that part before, lol, just curious..doesn't really effect my decision to get more.

thru the epidermis, which makes them hard to get rid of, so choose wisely!

It seeps all the way down to your organs. Think of it - you could have a tattoo of a heart on your heart!
