I personally prefer to eat couscous before a race. It is very similar to rice, but the grains are much much smaller. You can buy couscous at your local grocery store. All types of pasta and high-carb foods such as breads are good for pre-race meals. Good luck with your races!

One of my favorites is what I like to call White Spaghetti. You make a batch of noodles can be any kind but thin spaghetti is my favorite. then put enough olive oil on it to coat it but not too much. Add Garlic Powder, Parsley, a dash of salt and pepper, and if you like a good shake of Parmasean cheese and you are good to go.

It is a light meal that should make you fly like the wind. Good Luck in your race. However I think I could beat you.

Eat lots of carbs before you run like noodles or bread and afterwards eat protein.
