The product that is actually toxic is Theobromine and dogs metabolize it a lot slower than humans do. The theobriomine molecules bind to receptors on the surfaces of cells and block the natural compounds that normally attach there.

It honestly really depends on the size of your dog, the type of chocolate and the amount. A 50lb dog can eat a tablespoon of milk chocolate and be fine. It'll more than likey have some diarrhea issues, but nothing more. If that same dog were to eat that same amount, but this time it was baking chocolate, the dog would be in some real trouble.

To be on the safe side, just don't feed your dog chocolate. You can never be sure if your dog is going to be okay or not. They don't need to eat it just like humans don't really need to eat it.

Chocolate will speed up a dog's heart, and they can die from that. But it's a direct relation to how much chocolate they eat, how big they are, and how healthy they are. A healthy lab won't be affected from eating a Hershey's Kiss. A pomeranian eating a whole chocolate bar will probably be affected.

its actually pure milk chocolate

Chocolate contains theobromine. A naturally occurring stimulant found in the cocoa bean, theobromine increases urination and affects the central nervous system as well as heart muscle. While amounts vary by type of chocolate, it's the theobromine that is poisonous to dogs.

lol. sry first you need to check your grammar, edit your sentences for run ons, and then make sure that they make sense and that you're punctuation is correct. But, they can't eat chocolate because they cannot digest it. Dog's digestive systems are not as complex as a human's metabolism, they just don't do well in general with it.

Take it from an expret, giving a dog chocolate is like giving them a heart attack. It is not good for them.

It's the caffeine in the chocolate, they can have white chocolate though. But in moderation.

their stomaches cannot digest the coco in chocolate, making their stomache (hypothetically) go into meltdown mode. like forcing your dog to eat rat poison.
