So I got braces put on last week. The bottom front teeth are the only ones causing any dramas. The gum is always itchy, and it looks as if the gum line is receding, and more of the bone underneath is showing. The gum is still a pink colour, but was red a few days ago.

Should I go to the dentist to check it out, and what should I do about it?

WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING IS FLOSSING.
BUT NOW WITH THE WIRES HOW DO IT DO IT?
HARD WAY = USE A FLOSS-THREADER. LIKE A SMALL PLASTIC NEEDLE TO PUT THE FLOSS BETWEEN EACH INDIVIDUAL TOOTH.

EFFECTIVE?
YES! BUT VERY TIME CONSUMING, AND UNLESS YOU'RE WELL MOTIVATED, YOU WON'T DO IT.

EASY AND FUN WAY= USE A WATERPIK DAILY

THIS TAKES NO MORE THAN 1 MINUTE FOR THE WHOLE MOUTH.

BENEFITS = YOU AND THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN USE IT. THE GUMS WILL GET THE CLEANSING AND MASSAGE THEY NEED AND YOUR ORTHODONTIST WILL LOVE YOU FOR HAVING CLEAN GUMS TO WORK ON.
DRAWBACKS= BUYING THE MACHINE. ABOUT $40 (USA).

YOU WILL BE IN BRACES FOR SOME TIME. YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO DO IT WITH HEALTHY GUMS.
ps: no water fights with passing folks by the bathroom, lol

it's not bcoz the infected gums but bcoz your teeth move and your gum need to adjust it, dont worry bout it as long as you brush your teeth and use wash mouth like listerine or oral b.
