Depends entirely on what your rating is and where you are stationed. Please see a recruiter for some information about jobs within the USCG. A Yahoo Search for United States Coast Guard will get lots of data, and I can recommend:

My son is in the Coast Guard, and I don't think he has a "normal" day. Some days, he's out with the boat. Other days, he's performing his job in port. Yet other days, he's off to another station.
But, if it helps....he loves it.
