that is an old wives tale. I have donated almost two gallons, and it has not caused me to gain any weight.

Absolutely not true. I don't even know where that myth would come from.
Donating blood has nothing to do with weight gain.
SOme people eventually get fat b/c they eat too much and don't exercise---has nothing to do with donating blood.

This is one of the strangest stories I've ever heard. Where on earth did your mother get this idea?

There is no way that donating blood will cause weight gain. Donate that blood...there are people out there who need it.

Now that is one i haven't heard before!!! No. Blood donation won't make you fat. All it is going to do is help somebody in want. Donating blood is a huge thank you to be a hero to somebody you will by no ability meet. supply existence . . . be a blood donor!

Not in anyone I know. I worked at a guy's college for a while and they always have blood drives there. Not one of them is fat, but a couple could loose a few pounds.
It is an interesting question though. I'm studying to be a nurse so I'll have to do some research on that.

That's a bunch of bunk. Thousands of us at work gave blood every month for years and years and had no such side effect. I hope that you have a good experience and be sure to have a full breakfast tomorrow morning.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!

There is no connection to blood volume and weight!

No. It's not true. People eventually get fat from eating too much and sitting too much.
