skin is living flesh, hair on the other hand is dead(not living), our skin gets burned by the sun and gets darker, however our hair gets lighter in color because it is "dead" and just like the paint job on a car gets "bleached" lighter and lighter. living flesh gets darker because it reacts to sunlight and hair does not react to sunlight so it gets lighter in color.
