I'm 22 years old and the primary cook in my home has left. I know it sounds bad but i never learned to cook. I am as kitchen literate as probably a 9 year old.

I live with my dad, my bro and sis me being the youngest. However, no one has taken the initiative to cook so I will.

I'm used to traditional mexican dishes. But i'm pretty much up for anything. Please send your help and be as specific and detailed as possible.
thx guys ym

Here you go sweetie.
I promise you this is not only fast, easy, and delicious, but everyone will absolutely love it. You'll have enough left over for the next day, when it will actually taste even better

Incredibly Easy To Make Spaghetti sauce

1 onion, chopped
4 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 jars of Ragu spaghetti sauce, any flavor
1 package of 6 sweet Italian sausages
2/3 of a package of spaghetti (I like the Angel Hair)

1. Pour a little oil into a large saucepan (5 quart size)
2. When the oil is hot add the chopped onions and garlic.
3. Cook over med-low heat just until just soft and clear, not browned.
4. Add the 2 jars of Ragu Spaghetti sauce, and bring to a simmer.
5. Add the 6 sweet Italian sausages, and bring back to a simmer and cover. Cook at a simmer for 25 minutes.

Serve over the cooked spaghetti.
Serve with hot garlic bread.

Delicious!!

Buy a beginner cookbook.

Have a neighbor/friend show you these basic things.

Bake a piece of chicken and a pork chop

Fry an egg and a cheeseburger

Cook a bit of greenbeans or peas in a pot.

Boil Pasta (spaghetti and macaroni)

Once you learn how to bake a piece of chicken you can bake lots of things. You can then gage how long and at what temp to bake things. Chicken bakes fairly quick and pork must not be red or pink in the middle.

Once you learn how to fry an egg you can learn how to fry lots of things. Because you will learn that to fry many times you need somekind of oil or nonstick spray. Cheeseburger does not take oil. Ground beef for burgers has oil in it already.

If you cook vegatables in a pot you can just about cook any veggie.

Once you learn pasta you can make spaghetti, or chicken and pasta with veggies. Macaroni and cheese. (boil macaroni and add cheese butter and milk.)

Once you learn these things you can mix and match things all day long.

You can mix Chicken and veggies
Pork chops and a veggie
Hamburgers and chips and a pickle
Fry sausage (maybe a little oil) and then cook eggs and make breakfast for dinner too.
Add a can of Cream of anything soup to the veggies and cut up the chicken you baked and combine them all.

Whever you can add a veggie or fruit do it. You don't always have to cook these. Just add a few slices of orange to breakfast. Add a cut up apple to the pork chop dinner.
Add sliced tomatoes to any dinner.

If you add butter to things like a little spoon (teaspoon) you are adding fat to the meal but tastes better.

You can add lemon juice to the chicken just a little bit to make lemon chicken. Serve with broccoli. Serve lemon aid for drinks.

Good luck.

Quick Quesadillas
Flour tortillas
Butter or oil
Lots of packaged shredded cheese (your favorite kind - cheddar, Monterrey jack, taco mix - your choice since you're the cook!)

Heat large skillet over medium heat. Melt butter in microwave until melted (or use oil). With a brush, brush both sides of the tortilla and place in pan. Leave there to slightly brown and puff up. Turn over - reduce heat a bit - and add cheese to one half of the tortilla. Fold the empty side over the side with the cheese. Cover the pan with a lid (or baking sheet, if you don't have a lid that's big enough) and let the cheese melt for about 20-30 seconds. Flip tortilla over and brown other side for several seconds. Done!

Serve with a can of soup (tomato or chicken noodle) and you have a quick meal!

If you're used to mexican dishes there should be some tortillas laying around in the fridge and some ground beef.
sautee the ground beef on medium( put it in a pan and let it cook, until it turns a brownish color, add some seasoning while cooking, adobo, sazon,or salt and pepper. whatever you have.chop up some lettuce, tomatoes and put them into separate bowls.shredded cheese and sour cream if you have any...use all of this to make some yummy soft tacos.
Take all the ingredients and wrapped them up in the tortillas.
It tastes really good and it cooks in less than 20 minutes..
Enjoy!

Here's a good universal recipe, you can use the same ingredients to make several different dishes.
cut about a pound to 1 1/2 lbs. chicken, beef or pork into strips about 1/2 inch wide (length is unimportant, when you cook it you can cut it to size with a spatula,) marinade, if desired, while preparing vegetables. Chop one large onion one large bell (sweet) pepper and, if you like, several mushrooms or some celery or whatever veggie you would like, don't worry about cross contamination, you can use the same cutting board since its all going to be cooking in the same pan anyway, then heat a large skillet with about 2 to 3 tbl. spoons of oil (I like olive oil,) over med-high heat for about two min. Throw in you meat (but not the marinade,) and start browning (turning and stirring as needed) it and once it starts put in your veggies and get them browning lightly too...should take about 12 min to cook through and you can season with soy sauce and serve it over rice, or season it with chili powder and lime juice on tortillas as fajitas or add a can of diced tomatoes, some green chilies and taco seasoning and let it simmer on low heat for half an hour and make burritos!

Eggs scrambled with chorizo in a tortilla shell is wonderful!

Potatoes, chopped onions, a chopped jalapeno all fried together and wrapped in a tortilla shell - delicious!

How about grated cheese sprinkled over tortilla shells, microwaved till melted, wrapped up - let sit for a minute or two and chow down!
