First take time, and be patient. Recognize that this is about their feelings and not so much yours. Reassure them that they will be taken care of, and that you really enjoyed the chance to work with them and get to know them. People become emotional, and I've noticed in any type of care facility, and especially in mental health change comes real hard. A person adjust to the way a certain staff does things, they know them, they get to like them and its hard. But most people have gone through this often as there is usually a high turnover rate in this type of work. They will be alright, just take time to be empathetic to their feelings.

This will be really hard on the clients! Never become close to the clients in this field!
