I bought a puppy from this pet store and I bought it as part pom/shih tzu. But when he grew up, he looked nothing like that and started looking more like he had some terrier in him. He is a small dog with big ears. Any ideas on what kind of small dogs have big ears?

He looks nothing like a pom/shihtzu and I've heard that pet rips you off. That is why I am wondering. I have not seen a small dog with hug ears like that before.

Maybe Shih-tzu and Papillon. Check out this website and see if those ears look familiar. By the way, Papillons are great dogs, very smart.

A pom and a shih tzu are both terriers but a big head sounds like a chi...Could you give us a link to a picture so we could see him i would be able to tell then.

he might have Skye Terrier in him they have ears like that pet stores are a bad place to buy a dog most of the puppies are from puppy mills

well chihuahuas have big ears and are small but im not very sure maybe you should try asking your vet and if that doesnt work or you already took him/her then i have no idea.but it sounds like a mixed breed to me.could you post a picture up so i may see him?

I would need more info (and a pic would be awesome) but my best guess with the info you provided would be a mix with something else...such as...beagle...or corgy? depends on if the ears hang down or stand straight up! I guess the actual spelling is Corgi...

A friend of mine has a little dog with big ears with lots of hair on them. It is a Pa-peon. He is black and white spotted with little legs and a curly tail.

Well to really tell you I am pretty sure we need a picture. My personal thoughts are that you probally have a all american mixed breed. Nothing wrong with that, mixed breeds rock!

It could be part Basset Hound, Dachund, Or if it's ears are kina fluffy it could also be a spanel
