What is the best way to break-up with someone?

I have been going out with this boy for about two months, he was really sweet when we first started going out but he never has time for me anymore and he has been a real a** hole lately. i love him but if he is going to treat me like that i need to break up with him! i just cant do it and i don't want to look like a wimp for having my best friend do it! i was thinking of doing it over the phone. i really don't know what to say thought. I mean its a break-up what can i say to him that won't kill him inside! Well does anyone know how i can tell him?

The best way is to put all the blame on yourself (even though that is not the real reason). You say, "I'm not ready for a relationship now. It's not you, it's me. I really do not know what I want in one, but what I do know is that I need to work this out by myself. I do love you, and I enjoyed the time we spent together, but I just do not see a future for us as a couple. I know that you probably don't understand it now, but in time you will, and you'll realize it also."

Then you play the "Friend Card," the one phrase that all guys dread to hear, "I'll still want you to be my friend, though."

And that is how you end it.
