Okay so I want to help out my local animal shelter, so far me and a couple friends have come up with doing a car wash and geting cans and putting them in stores for people to donate, do you guys have any good ideas an how to earn money for them?

You also might want to volunteer your time at the shelter as well. If it is anything like the one that I volunteer at they need ALL the help they can get.
You can help by cleaning, walking, petting, or anything might need help with. Most shelters are understaffed an need all the help they can get.

When I had to raise money. I purchased and item (not too expensive) and held a raffle. I made sure that they knew what the raffle was for (animal shelter) and I charged $1.00 per chance. I used typing paper cut into squares for people to fill out. I actually made what I needed to raise. People are very kind, when you are helping come else. Make sure you have them put a phone number on the paper, so you can contact the winner.

They also need supplies most likely. How about getting a wish list from the shelter and asking all the neighbors?
