Most prisoners captured in the middle east are forced to make statements under coersion. The prisoners are being held captive, they can be prety much forced to say anything their captiors want. Just ask your vietnam veteran.

Heck no! She was probably threatened with rape if she didn't go with what the captors said. If you were in that situation, you might do things that you otherwise couldn't fathom. Survival is a very strong instinct.
