ma-greet. ....I thought I would add an interesting side note (if anybody is interested!) about him. A theme you see in his paintings often is a woman with a flowing piece of fabric over her face. This is a reference to when Magritte was a young boy. His mother committed suicide by drowning herself in the river. She had her nightgown on at the time. He saw her being pulled from the river, and when she was, her gown was over her face.......just thought someone might wonder why his paintings sometimes have that theme!

Yeah they do! My surname is AKUJI pronuonced "A KOO JEE". They always get it wrong! Some say "Akoosee" others are completely stumped and what to say! Some people ask me first how to pronounce it!

The first answer was correct. It's mah-GREET.
The "e" at the end has no accent, so it's silent.
