My cousin seems to think I am a doctor. She wants to know if you can get infections from public toilets especially if the water in the bowl splashes onto your vagina. She's pregnant too so she wants to know everything.

It is very possible, one of the worst being an HBV infection. I had neighbors when I was a child, and they allowed someone to come in and use their restroom. They didn't clean it, and both died of HBV infections within a year, so tell your cousin to hold it whenever possible, and try to pick the cleanest toilet. Also tell her to get an HBV vaccine if she wants one, they aren't cheap but havine peace of mind is priceless.

Actually you can't get infections unless someone used the toilet and has a sore or cut in the area that touches the toilet.
