I would see doctor and/or mental health expert. I'm not saying this because you're "crazy", but there always seems to be underlying causes to these things.

You may or may not have trichotillomania, which is a compulsive disorder.

There's many more sites out there!

Heh, I used to pull my hair out strand by strand when I kid, but that was out of boredom of spending time in the corner for punishment.

Good luck overcoming this. :-)

I did it for a long time but you have to stop sweetie or you will go bald and it won't come back.I did this ...i always kept it in a pony tail always and a loose one at bedtime...and if you need a better look than a ponytail when you go out then wear some nice hair items and keep it up...do this steadily for about 3 or 4 months and problem solved and also keep your hands busy alot like typing on here or doing some crafts...good luck from a former hair puller...lol

I have the same problem. I usually start when it's time to get a haircut. It's harder to do if you put a lot of hair spray on it. Also, it helps if you live with somone that slaps your arm whenever you start. Just remember, for each one you pull out, a little short one will take its place. Good Luck!

This is referred to as trichotillomania and is a form of obsessive-compulsive disorder. People often respond well (and stop the hair pulling) when placed on medication such as one of the SSRI's such as Paxil or Prozac. I would see a doctor and ask about these meds. Good luck.

I am not sure what you mean? Do you mean you are brushing it wrong by pulling out your hair? Or your hair is dry and won't hold a curl or wave or some kind of a style?

Nervous disorder.
Find something else less distructive to do. Like, chewing on gum, squeezing a stress ball, drawing on paper.
You may just have extra energy and no way to expell it.

Talk to a school or church counselor if it continues.

i don't think pulling it up will help, you will pull strays. try to keep your hands busy. hold a pen, a stressball, some silly putty anything to disrtact your hands. try to catch yourself in the act and figure out what triggers the pullinglike watching tv, boredom at work/school or even stress.

I saw that episode, on MTV.get a hobby using your hands that you really enjoy. Try to learn something new, like knitting of sculptures. Sometimes "experts" say it cant be help without drugs or some meds, but you have to have self control,
