In a very round about way this came up earlier. Someone asked about the difference between religion and spirituality.

There are many who see church as a social gathering. They aren't there for God at all.

They serve others just so people will look up to them.

So sad.

I'm a hard-core atheist now but less than 6 months ago I was going to church and singing hymns with everyone else but I didn't really believe in god. I was confused and didn't believe half of the stuff they were dishing out to us. There are ALOT of Christians I know that are confused and unsure about god and religion.

Probably far more than you'd ever get to admit to it. In fact I'm sure I've met quite a few in my time.
But then I reckon there are most likely a fair few athiests who are really agnostic or even more religious who are also in the closet.

In college, I knew a guy who subleased the closet of the room in his apartment. Someone lived in it for a year. I am not sure of this individual's religious inclinations.
