My son is turning 8 in May and he has wanted a BMX freestyle bike forever! I think he is tall enough now for one. But I have no idea what is a good bike? can anyone give me some names please. Thanks

Well, there are A LOT of good ones out there, too many to name in fact. Your best bet is to forgo brand and do your search in bike shops. Bike shops sell reputable brands and (MORE IMPORTANTLY) have service after the sale. Some may also have organized BMX events if your son gets interested. By comparison, a department store has none of these services. Some of their brands and /or models are unique to that store.

If you go to an actual bike shop not wal-mart or anything like that you will find that most of the bikes that are built are pretty good but if he stickes with it for along time you will go through 2 or 3 of those. that's what i did until i finally just spent the money on a complete custom $1500. You could also try danscomp.com its like an online bmx bike shop.

If he is turning 8 you may want to get him a lighter BMX
FreeAgents are very light and durable and would probably be the best, in my opinion here's the site:

Hope this helps :-)
