- Here's a list of foods the National Headache Foundation says you should avoid.

* Ripened cheeses, such as cheddar and brie
* Chocolate
* Anything fermented, pickled or marinated
* Nuts including peanut butter
* Sourdough bread
* Anything with MSG, including soy sauce, meat tenderizers and seasoning salt
* And if you get migraines often, you should avoid eating pizza

If you cut all these out of your diet and the headaches STILL come, experts say to focus your attention on other parts of your body especially your muscles. Here's a tip to help you get rid of the pain fast--

* Lie on your back and tighten the muscles in your toes and feet. Hold this for a few seconds, then relax. Do this for each muscle group, working your way up the body. When you're finished, stand up and stretch the different muscle groups for a total of five minutes. Again, work from the feet up - until you reach your head. This'll help get rid of tension and stress, which should reduce the sharpness of the migraine.

- Try fatty fish like trout, sardines or herring. They're loaded with omega-3 fatty acids which lower your body's production of chemicals that cause inflammation and pain in your brain. In tests, doctors found that people taking fish oil supplements had fewer headaches--The ones they did get didn't last as long and were less severe. To get the desired effect, have a 4 ounce serving three times a week. Also, there are certain foods to avoid researchers found that migraine sufferers are sensitive to these foods: processed meat, hard cheese, citrus, and red wine.

Since I am pregent and really can't take any meds. I bought a heat/cold pad filled with herbs. place it in the micorwave till warm and put on back of head. I also find a dark, quite area to sleep/rest in while using pad works great. Also try to keep track of when u get them and see if there is something in common and avoid that thing.

Unfortently if none of these work go back to the dr and ask about preventive meds.
