You can try antacids to help with that.
I have also looked in health shops for alternatives which are actually quite good. There are liquids type of antacid, which taste foul but work well and barley alkaliser which helps turn the food to alkaline in your stomach and is a good alternative to just using antacids.

Try an acid reducer. They last longer than tums.
