I originally wanted to purchase a new Ipod for my boyfriend's graduation, or dish out the money for a tatoo. But after spending money on hotel/plane tickets, there is no way I can afford any of these things right now. I'm 23 by the way, college student, part-time job. I know it doesn't matter to him, he's just happy that I'm going to be there. But I'd like to get something small for him as a surprise. Trust me the sex with go down, I don't need those kind of recommendations.

What little thing would touch you if you received it from you girl?
I know guys have there thing too...

First of all, I want to say how awesome the Marine Bootcamp Graduations are! We went to my son's in San Diego--spent a lot of money on plane tickets and a hotel---but it was worth every penny! It is incredible to see your Marine for the first time in uniform, and to see the incredible change that has taken place in their lives! Your boyfriend will be thrilled that you are even there---that is your gift to him!!!

We gave my son a Marine watch with a Eagle, Globe and Anchor on it. Since you don't have a lot of money, what about a wallet or a nice "civilian" shirt he can wear after he graduates and heads out for some leave time? Just a few suggestions, but all in all, your gift will be the fact that you cared enough to spend your money to get there to be a part of such a memorable, life-changing and special event in his life. Hope you have an amazing time with your new Marine!

Well...I'm not a man, however I am a 17 year Marine.

Wanna get him something he will use? A briefcase. He is going to be checking in and out of everywhere and he will end up carrying this stupid "boot bag" that he received in Recruit Training (a black plastic portfolio with a zipper and an Eagle Globe and Anchor on it...it will last 3 months at best).

Or a gift certificate for footlocker, trust me, his running shoes are TRASHED!

Wanna get something he will love? that is up to you, honey. He is still the same way down deep and just seeing you at graduation will be an amazing thing he will cherish forever.

Good luck and God speed and tell the young Marine "Welcome Aboard"

If youreally want to get him a meaningful gift for his graduation from Marine Corps Boot Camp then get him a Ka-Bar knife. They are only about 35.00 dollars and they are the knife of the Corps. If you can afford it have it engraved with his name and graduation date. Otherwise let him use it in the field. I still have mine from when I was in and I treasure it like you wouldn't believe. It will most likely be buried with me. I've even named it. I'm telling you it will mean alot to him. But make sure it is a Ka-Bar. Not some cheap knock-off. Go with the brand name. It will have U.S.M.C. engraved on it near the hilt.

Just u being there for him will be enough. I wouldnt get him anything that could be taken away specially in the marines everything is contraband. I gave my fiance a small picture frame that has a picture of both of us in it and he carries it everywhere and looks at it when he is lonely. Since it is small it fits in his pockets. Everything else was taken away from him because he was unable to hide it, or it was parishable. He will honestly be so glad to see you that a gift wont matter to him. Just hug him and tell him how proud you are and that you will always support him and be there for him.

Get something small to carry, yet hard to lose and very very rugged.

These say card holders, but you can still put pictures in them.

Maybe something that he could carry around with him that has your picture in it?

A locket or something similar.
