I switched from Norton antivirus to Avast+Zone Alarm firewall.. I think my computer is pretty secure now... I was just wondering if there is some other software that I would have to install???
I am not sure about spybot...(free edition)....

Spybot Search & Destroy and AdAware as good programs that will search for adware and spyware and will help you to get rid of it. These are programs that you need to make sure to update and run every once in a while, I think that they might be able to be set up to run automatically.

Be careful about the types of things that you download from the internet, use common sense and you should not have any real trouble.

The most important this is that you need to make sure that you keep these programs up to date. If they are out of date, they will not be able to protect your computer the way that it should be protected.

I use CCleaner (free) as from CCleaner.com to clean up my cookies and other extra stuff that I don't need. I use Spybot (free) and Webroot Spysweeper w/ Antivirus (not free). I also have System Mechanic 7 (not free).

I, as you, use Zone Alarm Firewall.

Download AVG free anti-virus

It was in a computer magazine my dad subscribe to, it beat every other anti-virus program in viruses found, these programs it beat are monthly subscription programs.
All beaten by a free anti-virus... Its a free version, but theres a pay version too, but the free one is already better than everything else, what more do you need?

Only thing else you need to do is install common sense in your head! You download porn, files from file sharing sites, or freeware, you gonna get zapped plain and simple and NO protection will keep it all out!
