Compressing iMovie HD File?

I made a movie on iMovie HD for my youth group and after it was done its 1.29GB. That's fine and it'll be the version I burn on the DVD, but we were also looking to put up a version on the website. How would I compress that so I can put it up on the website? I figure I'll just have it to download, since it would take too long to view in-browser, though that would be nice.
