My best friend's crush likes her, but we think he's intimidated by her. She's not loud or overpowering at all- rather shy in fact! She's just smart and really pretty- I think that freaks him out a little. Could this be right? What causes a guy to be intimidated by a girl?

The fact that shes a girl and hes a guy. Just the person being a girl is intimidating.

Sometime's its the smallest quality of a woman that makes a guy get intimidated. Maybe he won't talk to her because she is very pretty and intellectual. Or it could be others. This happens to me all the time. Frightened to talk to my crush because i'm scared i might say the wrong things. Every man's got a vulnerable point. And at this moment. He got vulnerable.

alot of guys who are inexperienced with the whole "dating scene" get intimidated by good looking girls, especially if the guy likes her. Once he gets his feet wet, and finds out that some girls like him as well, and learns that being turned down for a date once in a while isnt the end of the world, he'll be much more confident.

I have heard many guys say they have intimdated by girls that are beautiful or really pretty-but also if she is very smart alot of times they will be intimidated if they feel they are going to say something stupid-or maybe think they wil be asked about something they dont know..so you are right in thinking that

just that she is pretty and shy. he is more than likely use to a loud person. Or maybe what he is into is not what he really wants. Now that he thinks he found what he wants he doesn't know how to act. Tell him to relax and be his self.

I don't know, some guys are like that around me, and I'm very shy too. I think they're afraid of saying the wrong thing or they're afraid of being rejected.

If he finds her extremely beautiful, that makes him really intimidated by her. He'll probably feel stupid if he talks to her.

many reasons why: fear of rejection fear of what other people may think fear of ruining a friendship if things go wrong maby hes just shy maby she's more popular than him and he feels preasured tomeet the social standards of her and maby her friends too it could be alot of things but he just has to stand up and say hey i like you and if she likes him to cool if not then maby its for the better good luck

ohh yes that is true! way true. have her use it to her advantage....she needs to make all the moves cuz it sounds like he is obviously into her. By her making the moves, he'll be sorta scared but that just puts her in the #1 rank for girls he'll want cuz she'll be acting AGGRESIVE towards HIM!
