10 weeks ago i was 37 weeks pregnant. my son gave me this awful stomach flu where you dry heave so hard it felt like i threw up my stomach. i thought it was bringing on braxton hicks and i was dehydrated so my doc told me to come in at 8 at night to get an iv. my husband took me in and as soon as we walked in triage he threw up. he took my son home and i got an iv. the doc said i was 5 cm dilated. i didnt notice. she said i was having a baby that night. i told my husband on the phone but he was too sick to come back. i got to 6 cm and they broke my water and it didnt hurt bad til 7-8 cm. i got the stupid epidural and they said i was at ten after i got it cuz i was still freaking from pain. so after two contractions i said maybe i should call my husband who was soooo sick, and she was born on the next contraction. he was shocked at my 5 hour birth .

When I found out that I was pregnant, I checked my due date, and it was June 21st. I told my boyfriend (now husband), and he was worried, because his sister's wedding was going to be on June 18th... and as soon as he said it I had a feeling I would go into labor that day... well, I made it through the wedding, but when my husband came back in after walking down the aisle as a groomsman and got me to walk me out, my water broke after I took two steps! So my prediction was true, I went into labor at my sister-in-law's wedding! Thankfully, I made it to the hospital with time to spare, my son came 12 hours later on Father's Day, June 19th. :)

5 hours you lucky woman!

My mom was in labour for my brother for either 34 or 36 hours, she only got a C-section after my dad grabbed onto the doctor and got pretty demanding. The doctors knew all along that she wouldn't be able to pass my brother but back then you had to do a trial run. Also my mom lost so much blood she went unconscious a few times.
Luckily my brother was born very healthy.
I however was a planned C-section and no more after me!

A girl I went to high school with had a baby not long ago and she died after birth. Something about being poisoned. I personally think it was drug abuse but that's just me!

Hmm...come to think of it I don't really have any happy birthing stories.

My nephew got stuck, had the umbilical cord almost wrapped around his neck and then once he finally did get out he came 2 inches from hitting the cement floor and the doctor grabbed him by the cord and he now has a hernia.

Well my new niece of nephew is due in 10 days...so we'll see how that labour turns out.

As for my own stories- Sorry but I'm only 20 and don't plan on having any children for a few more years.

For my 1st daughter... she was my little nightmare in waiting... Thankfully she's ok now...but my lord... she was a difficult one.

I had gotten toxemia the last week of pregnancy and had to be induced. I don't wish anyone EVER to get induced... it is awful! The contractions were ten times worse I thought... I then got an epidural... and was feeling ok... but somehow the concoction of the epidural and inducing drugs did a number on me. I did finally have my daughter... (sorry for being so graphic) I tore from hole to hole literally... they were sewing items they didn't quite know where they belonged.... I went into convulsions after wards... Had to take some magnesium stuff to settle the convulsions and severe headache... I had to sit in the dark for a week ... no lights... it was a royal pain in the butt! Baby turned out just fine... I eventually became just fine... and crazy me... after that... I had another baby a few years later... which was sooooo completely opposite. She was an absolute breeze. Now... I am pregnant with our 3rd.... and am praying to have another like my 2nd. The first was a rough one. Whew.

I had two c sections and on my second one when they gave me the drugs to numb my body they didnt give me enough and the dr pinched me to see if I was numb yet and I told her I could feel what she was doing and she said ok well by the time we start you should be numb there. I felt half my surgery and they couldnt do nothing about it till they got the baby all the way out. I felt the whole right side get sliced open and pulled apart and felt the baby slide over it with all the stinging slime. After they got her out they finally numbed me more and I almost passed out while trying to look at my new baby.

It's not crazy, but it's not bad. There was a severe thunderstorm the night before our child's birth. We were moved into the hospital's hall-way due to extremely high winds. Some windows were blown out of a near-by Air force base. No damage to the hospital, but it was scary. Big mess outside the next day.

I was born with a malignant tumor. Doctors operated on me at 3 weeks old to remove it but told my parents there was only a 5% chance of my surviving the surgery.

And here I am many years later. Aint life grand?

That's a crazy story... I remember when my friend's baby was born. He was born on Fat Tuesday (Marde Gras) which is cool because his father is from Louisiana and loves the holiday! I saw more of my friend that night than I ever wanted to..

I hope you and your baby are doing well and that you are both healthy.... Your hubby too. Men are such wusses!
