The leaf has a function. That is make glucose in the process of photosynthesis. This is why leaves are so important ot plants.
Its sometimes hard to think of plants having organs the way animals do (ie the heart, lungs etc), but they do have them, just not what we may typically think of.
Plants have flowers (which are the reproductive organs of the plant) or cones, they have roots (which have a function of absorbing water and minerals from the soil and holding the plant firm in the ground), a stem (which is the highway for moving substances among other things).
