There old enough to feed and care for them selves and we have seperated the one that were keeping so that we are able to hand tame it and did the same with the other two but im just curiouse to why she is poofed all the time like she is mad. Thank in advance.

How old this is Tiel? I would say the reason she is poofed isnt from being cold, unless your living in a cold house. It sounds more like she is sick. The question is what is making her not feel good? If she wasnt properly weaned, or weaned too soon that could be making her sick. Birds in the wild with hide their illness because they risk the chance of being attacked by the other birds. And by the time they can no longer hide their illness they will go down to the ground and hide until death takes them. The same instinct is in domesticated birds too.

Now if you can afford it, you really need to take her to an Avian Vet to have her checked out.

birds poof up their feathers when they're cold or sick. I hope it is the former and not the later. Are the other ones poofed up? If they aren't just watch the poofy one for signs of illness: sneezing, watery eyes, nasal drainage, etc. Birdies catch colds just like humans after all. PS - aren't they the ugliest things when they hatch out....only a mother and a lot of human caretakers could love that shrivelled up blind alien-looking baby. Cuties...absolutely loved hand raising. Good luck.

Are you sure that she is eating? If she is less than two months old, she may be hungry and trying to conserve body heat.

She can also be sick. Take her to an avian vet for a check up if she is the only bird acting like this.
