Nicole...I was trying to find a chi also because my little chi "Bella" was hit by a car and instantly died. I cried for weeks it was such a painful loss. I bought her without papers for about $600.00 but that was 2 years ago. Now you can't find one for under $1000.00 with papers. I don't know what they would be without papers. I live in Connecticut so maybe it is a little cheaper elsewhere. Best of luck....I love little chi's they are so sweet and loving.

The thing is, you never want to buy a dog without papers. These dogs come from bad bloodlines (meaning health problems and temperament problems) and generally from bad situations. You need to DEMAND papers and to use a good breeder. What you are looking for is a "pet quality" dog from a responsible breeder. Not one who constantly breeds crappy dogs so that she can make money.

I would think that a healthy pet quality dog from a good breeder would be anywhere from $500-$2000, depending on the dog.

If you are kind enough, consider rescue. TONS of chihuahuas come up through rescue. http://www.petfinder.com and http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/

yes, go to your local animal shelter and adopt one. there are lots of little cute Chihuahuas looking for homes. there is a high possibility that it will be killed, unless you go and adopt it.. You shouldn't breed or buy while shelter pets die! try

www.petfinder.com to search for Chihuahuas..

paying anything over a 100 would be a rip off when most shelter dogs go for &80, which includes shots, deworming, first vet check, miccrochip, and getting it fixed. that should all be included, but it mostly depends on the shelter..

Adopt or rescue! It eould be rediculous to buy an animal from a breeder when you can save an animal's life!
