My son 4.5 y/o has a fever today. It started out at 99 and has had 2 incidents of it rising up to 102 and 103 today. He also ahs a condition where his body has a hard time regulating its temperature- its an endocrine problem and he does see and endocrynologist. But fever is his only symptom. What is going on? I give motrin every 6 hours and as soon as it wore off the high temp came back. Any ideas

See a Doc. Don't bath in cool water, you should use tepid water. You can send him into shock with cold water, and cause his fever to drop too quickly, which can cause a seizure. Call the E.R and see what they recommend.

I'd go to EM also. Temp is quite high for a little guy.

#1.My temps went through the roof twice as a little person. Once with pneumonia.
#2. I drank kerosene while watching my grandmother scrub a bathtub 55 years ago.

It seems to me if he has a sore throat-he has an infection going on also. He should see his Dr. as he may need antibiotics. My grandson had the same thing today, his Dr. said it was her 6th case of strep throat today. Motrin will help for only so many times--antibiotics will start working within 24 hrs. Usually this combo helps. good luck xoDonna P
